Mr Bill

This is my current layout. It's comprised of 2 different shelf modules I've been slowly picking at for a few years now. The main concept was to develop a very lightweight module system for set-up at home or for transporting to a show. Currently I'm working on the connection joint between the 1st section (Brewer Yard), and the 2nd one, (Carbon Corner),  with the sector plate. The name Brewer is intended as homage to the John Updike book Rabbit Run, which was set in Brewer (Reading) Pa. which is my home town and favorite RR. These modules have been my first venture towards bringing foam base, tracklaying, and scenery techniques to a complete state. I'll get into some of those details later. the next thing i need are some allignment dowels.

Mr. Bill - you are welcome.

Mr. Bill - you are welcome. Thanks for the pictures. Is your layout built on foam? PA is a great area to model as there are lots of possibilities.

The next little 'problem' will be ...

... all those pictures will show up at the top of every page.  These threads behave a bit strangely; the first post is carried over to the top of every page.  Ideally, your first post is more of a 'header' (brief text with perhaps one photo) and then follow it up with a second post with more of the details.

Too late for this one, I know; but, perhaps for future reference.

 Thanks for the tip Dave.

The sector plate end.

Current surgery at the connection. You can see the basic construction of 1 and 2 inch foam base, 5mm plywood sub-roadbed, and matboard roadbed, whch is glued down with carpenter's glue, while the track is on with adhesive caulk.
