Finally got the turntable finished and installed - Just needs the Digitrax auto reverser and approach track linked in and we're good to go..............

Turned out much better than I thought for a cheap eBay 1963 vintage kit (Cliff Line).

There are many bargains about on eBay for the patient - (I recommend casual hunting on a laptop  while half watching TV).

I also indulged myself with some weathering that isn't really necessary at this stage of the build but it was great fun.

Intimidated

The last few threads I searched have really intimidated my artistic side. As in this case, I never knew dirt and grime could look so dynamic. Well done, Larry Dunbar

It's The Pits!!

Absolutely great! Most turntables are so blank and sterile. This would look good on any narrow gage line or even at some rarely used division points for late steam roads. Excellent work and a great inspiration.

Oops - Almost Forgot the Ash Pit

In my enthusiasm to lay the first connecting track I almost forgot about the ash pit.

The little devil on my right shoulder said: "You can do it later - just get on and test out that turntable".
Fortunately, I listened to the little angel on my left shoulder who said: "It makes more sense to do it now when access is easy - have some patience and do it right".

So; a frantic bit of scratch building and here we have it...............26%20007.JPG

Needs some more weathering and some nut and bolt castings, but that really can wait............

Now on with testing
