Hi All,  Does anyone know a good source for a variety of Vermont named railroad locomotives in HO scale?  I am especially looking for VTR, CL&P, GMRR, Rutland, CV and even NEC.   I have picked up a few in the strangest places (like down South and from out West).  Is anyone aware of a source in New England that might have most of these Road names AND even a good supply of rolling stock for the same?  I am undertaking a very ambitious project to model most of the state of Vermont and a few locations in New Hampshire (CCRR).  I don't want to get too involved without having a good inventory of regional locos and rolling stock since they seem to be hard to find.  (I am considering the 50's thru 80's to allow for plenty of options.)   Please let me know where I might find multiple units or if someone has a bunch to sell.  Thanks for your help.

Vermont Diesels

Seems that Ebay might be the best bet for finding those hard to find Vermont road names.  If you can't find ones your looking for you might want to get the proper model your looking for and paint it!  Microscale decals are a good way to go and Highball Graphics   http://www.mgdecals.com/ is a good source for some of many of the Vermont roads.

Finding Vermont road names seems to always be a hit and miss and, pre-ordering when companies like Atlas announce something your looking for.

Thanks Greg for your reply.

Thanks Greg for your reply.  Yes, I've got 2 brand new GP-38's that I bought as Burlington Northern units several years ago and was thinking of repainting them red for VTR.  I was hoping someone out there in forum world might be from New England and know of a hobby shop that might have a good stock.  Clickety-Clack and forward we go!

When modeling Vermont

don't forget to include Canadian Pacific and Canadian National locomotives in the mix, as well as Boston & Maine!

Thanks for the reminder.

Thanks for the reminder.  Already have those covered.  Being a former resident of both NH and VT for long periods of time have given me a wealth of information, photos, and ideas for this project.  I only hope that I can bring it all together some day.  I'm expecting it to take a few years, but that's what retirement will offer.  Thanks again.  Clakety-clack and forward ho!

Might be able to help.

I’ve got a half a dozen or so VTR 40’ boxcars in basically new shape, Kaydee couplers and original trucks.  Not tuned up to perfection.
