Dear Don, Love the Sweep,

Dear Don,

Love the Sweep, any details on it's construction?

Happy Modelling,
Aim to Improve,

PS for those thinking Don is into housecleaning, a "Sweep" is a SWitcher/gEEP mashup loco from Canada. Switcher cab/frame, GP hood, and a whole lotta "what-the?!?!?!?" appeal...

Fantastic "shortly loco" for shorty layouts, with more visual brawn than a typical SW...

Sweep locomotive

The sweep loco was the first locomotive I scratch built. It was done over 12 years ago. It started out as an Athearn SW1200 that I cut the the cab and rear section off. I then took a GP9 shell and cut off the long hood to fit on the frame along with the cab from the SW1200. I leant a lot form building this locomotive. The is a link from my webpage showing a close up of the sweep loco.   http://www.trainweb.org/ddminingsteel/sweep56.html
