Several months ago I floated out some ideas for revising the south end of Wilmington Yard on my layout.  I received some interesting feedback so I thought I would update all y'all on what i ended up doing.

The goal was to increase the number of double ended tracks in the yard.  As it ended up I chose the simplest solution.  I added two #5 switches which extended yard #1 by a about 2-3 cars.  It ended up NOT making it a direct shove from the yard to industry leads and interchanges, I felt it would simplify the operations so much it would remove the challenges from the Maryland Ave Shifter.

Here is a picture of the revised tracks.  Counting the main track, runner, #1 and #2 that gives the Wilmington Yard 4 options for double ended tracks.  As it turns out, choosing the quickest solution turns out to have been the right answer (but more on that in the next several months).
