Anyone going to the Huckleberry Railfan weekend? Today ( Missed It) and sunday.I will be there promoting our upcoming train excursion. Plus hopefully  getting some great video of Rio Grande 464.

Microsoft ICE and Photosynth

If anyone is curious, I used Microsoft ICE and Photosynth to create the Panoramic. This one above was 4 digital photographs stitched together. I was only in the cab for a few seconds and was shooting quickly. If I take my time I get much better results as you can see here. The one below UP 4005 was 6 photographs. All High Def so use your mouse to pan around and zoom in. If there is enough interest I can make a step by step tutorial on how to do this.

How about 2014 - in two days?

Anyone going this coming Saturday or Sunday? The 2014 Huck RR Railfan Weekend is scheduled for August 2-3rd - details can be found here: http://www.geneseecountyparks.org/pages/huckleberry

I plan on going Saturday - booked for the 12 noon and 5:30pm photo-runby trips. There's also a two-ride special fare available all weekend, and the usual modular layout and historical displays in the village - besides the ongoing shop tours.
