Hi,

I need to fix a trestle I've been building.  The hand rails were put on incorrectly on the bridge.

What is the best way to remove the CA and handrail without destroying the bridge?

Here is a pictue with the hand rails:

removing CA glue

To the best of my knowledge only acetone or products that contain acetone will remove CA glue.  If the bridge is made of styrene plastic howerver, the acetone will destroy the bridge.

Some claim a product called Debonder works better than Acetone but I believe that product contains acetone.

I would guess that if working with plastic you will have to cut saw or grind the glued areas to free the railings and then scrape/grind the remaining glue off the pieces.

Maybe someone else will have better ideas?

Good luck!

hope this works

Since the bridge is wood, using acetone or debonder may work for you.

I wouldn't want to be in your shoes though.  I'll bet it won't be easy or too much fun.  Good luck with it.
