Decals or Dry Transfer lettering

aileron44's picture

Anyone know who makes and where I can find decals or dry transfer lettering appropriate for Tichy tank cars.  How about for Tichy PFE wood reefers?  Microscale makes some for tank cars but I don't know if they are correct for the forties.

Dry transfer

Take a look at Clover House.  www.cloverhouse.com

They have a large assortment of dry transfers; you can mail order, and they are prompt about filling orders.  And they've advertised in MRH.

Clover House

Clover House has not and does not advertise in MRH, but it would be good to mention to them that maybe they should.

I beleive they were mentionned in a newsletter but that's all.

Ad?

Les,

Issue 2, page 129 (2nd to last page).   Looks like an ad for cloverhouse.com above the column, by Ryan Andersen, that mentions them.  If that's not an ad, I stand corrected.  Anyway, I've dealt with them starting in the 1970's, and can personally recommend them and their products.

And all this just shows that I read MRH cover-to-cover, as well I should.  Best mainline ezine on the planet.

Clover House

Don,

Thanks for the kind words re: the Ezine, we are glad you enjoyed it.

That was not Clover House advertising on page 129, it was Ryan showing where to get dry transfers in his column. The same goes for his mentionning Scotty Mason on page 127, Scotty later did become a sponsoring advertiser (The Scotty Mason Show). I have sent Advertising info to Clover House but have had no reply so far! If you have personal contact with someone there let me know and I will contact him/her about advertising with MRH.

Thanks for your input!

Not a Clover House ad

Yep, that's not a Clover House ad. First, ads don't have article figure captions - and second, if you check the advertiser index on the same page at the right, Clover House is not listed. That was an illustration for Ryan's New Media column.

Speaking of decals. I just

Speaking of decals. I just bought two brand new unnumbered atlas ATSF Dash 8s. Can anyone recommend a place to pickup prototypically accurate decal sheets for N scale? On a related note I bought two ATSF Dash 8 40BWs with the same road number, can anyone recommend a product to remove the road numbers on a factory painted loco?

Many thanks!

BDF having no Idea

BDF having no Idea what your engines are numbered I would if they are both lets say #4258 now erase the #4 off of one engine and the #8 off of the other you will then have 2 differently numbered engines AS #258 and #425 or possibly just change the #8 to #9 by removing the 8 and put a 9 in its place. Just some suggestions and I hope it helps to simplify your problem.
