Realistic Street construction ideas

Just a quick post requesting ideas from my fellow modelers on how to construct realistic looking roads and streets.  I have a need for a series of streets for my town area and I am not satisfied with any of my attempts so far, so any help would be greatly appreciated.

Sincerely

Asphalt or concrete?  There

Asphalt or concrete?  There are a lot of techniques for both.  There's  a thread just a few spots below yours about modeling concrete.  I just added a post at the end of it that starts with "Since someone else has bumped..."

Here's a quick test I did to try some ideas...

Have a look here...

Hey Andrew,

Have a look at the below thread for how I did the streets on our module (which I now use on the layout too) it runs through from the construction to the painting & weathering...

Street Question

Steve,

Thanks for the reply.  I guess it can be either.  The area I looking to add the streets to is my "down town" area of my small town.  I am modeling the late 60's to the early 70's.

Thanks again
