I've tried a couple of local hobby shops, searched this forum a little, and searched a little on-line for a source of PC Board ties for switches. Seems Fast Track is out of stock on this item and they have announced a new concept of PC Board ties coming next February, but they only show the 9' long version for track. Makes me think they will be discontinuing their current offerings in place of the new design.

Anyone know who else sells PC board ties in 17' length? I prefer to stay away from slicing my own from PC Board.

Clover House

If I need a jig, tool or speciality item I get it form fast tracks, but anything else I have been getting from CLOVER HOUSE http://cloverhouse.com/Store/they sell PC ties in various sizes and lengths. I have been getting them in 12" length and cutting them to size. I get it in a few days fro

For a long time I used Fasttracks for my PC ties that were precut to the size I needed, but the mail was so slow getting to me from Canada. I have a lot of relativse up there and it is slow getting to and from them as well.

Hi Tim,   Is there some reason you don't make PC board ties with single side of copper?  Having to gap the bottoms is extra work that would be nice to avoid....Regards, Dave Branum

Expensive.

That is a good question Dave.  We looked into producing single sided ties but found that the material is very scarce, and when it could be found, it was quite a bit more expensive.  Seems odd as one would think half the copper would reduce the cost, but I suspect its because there is not a lot of demand for it.

Copperhead ties

In my last order of PC ties, Fast tracks substituted the Copperhead ties for the normal ones I had ordered.

All I can say is that they are very impressive. Smoother sides that need no sanding. Flat on both sides as opposed to the old ones that had a "crown" on one side. Thanks for subing them.

My arms got too short so I've switched to G scale. Old steam and early diesel are my choice of loco. Scratch built is better.

pc ties

I Talked to Roger,at caboose hobbies, yesterday about this. Due to low demand they no longer carry p.c.ties. He too mentioned clover house. So its either them or fast tracks. I will have to check the price's (with shipping) and order   accordingly.             john

double-sided PC ties

It seems to me that since the 80s most PC boards are now oriented toward logic circuits, which typically use both sides of the board. Also, a producer of products isn't going to be concerned with "wasting" one side of copper since they can sell their waste to recyclers who will be glad to take the copper out for them (or the company could recover it itself).

It probably comes down to it being more economical for the board makers to have one line making double-sided boards than 2 lines making doubles and singles.

Clover house is my choice

Both Fast Traks and Clovehouse carry PC ties. While Tim Warris makes OUTSTANDING products (I own jigs, frog/point form tools, etc.) his products are on the high side price wise. I purchase my PC ties from Tom at Cloverhouse. I find his prices much more reasonable than anyone else's , and the quality is certainly acceptable. The Copperhead ties from Fast Tracks, as awesome a time saver as they are, are just too rich for my blood. I purchase my rail from Proto 87. I find their prices on code 55 about the best out there. Hope this helps!
