Rustman

I spent part of the evening tarring the roof seams and I figured I might as well test their weather (light) proofness so I powered up the LED's installed inside and took this shot. I did apply a bit of editing work on the computer but not much. Could use some fog, but that's beyond my current knowledge.

It's 11 PM and the record store has been closed for a few hours. But Ronny's is still open so you can hock your grandfather's watch and slip next door to buy a 40 of malt liquor and some scratch offs from Murph. Maybe this time you'll get lucky and win enough for the rent. Just down the street on the other side of the glow of the street lamp is the Conrail main to the Locust Point yard. But the trains don't run like they used to. Not since all the factories started closing. American Can, Atlantic Broom, Continental Can, American Standard... Even Bethlehem Steel out on Sparrows Point is cutting back...

Depressed yet? I know I am.

I really need to start on that Bermuda module. Much cheerier then this one.

Excellent!

Very nicely done! I kind of got goose bumps reading the narrative. The atmosphere conveyed is perfect! Love both the B&W and the color shots.

First rate modeling and "night" photography!

The  atmosphere is uncanny!  I zoomed in and saw that "Murph" has a well-stocked place, with lots of bottles on the shelves.  Nice work!

Are you going to consider any faint music from Murph's?  I know it's a liquor store instead of a bar, but Murph wants people in a party mood, right?"

Sounds

Eventually the module will have a couple of sounds going on. As the next two blocks over will be residential I want to incorporate noises like somebody wrenching on their Camero. Also next to Murphs is a record store. I plan to have some Kix playing. I'd really like to recreate a soundtrack of the local rock radio station, I'm a bit stumped on 80's commercials. I can find earlier ones under the headings of "old time commercials" but not newer stuff.

Atmosphere

Rog,

Thanks for noticing those details. I was really trying to go for the atmosphere and yes Murph's has a photo insert of liquor bottles. Ronny's has photo inserts too but I haven't captured them on camera, can see them in person though. In a few weeks I'll try and do some similar photos but with a train in the background.  Should be fun.
