I am just amazed that the friendliness and helpfulness of people on this board.  I'm very used to friendly and knowledgeable people here and elsewhere--but the post I got in reply to a question is just wonderful.

I am looking for some passenger car widths for the old Maine 2 footers, and Stephen, who lives near there, offered to stop by and measure.  I had to say something where hopefully all would see it...THANKS!  It's great to be part of such a fantastic online community.

Agreed!

We have a few spats and disagreements from time to time, but I find that the folks here are generally a pretty darn great bunch.  I'll add my note of thanks for the friendliness and help I've received as well, and I hope I can and do return the favor as often as possible.

MRH Forum rocks!

Quick and informative responses, definitely a friendly and learning atmosphere....  I totally agree with your post, Irish!  This is my first stop for research, opinions, questions and answers.  I belong to a few forums, some model railroad and some not, and this is by far the best place to be.

I also really like the fact we have direct access to the publisher and writers (some of whom are US) of MRH.

Thanks, guys

Thanks, guys. That has been a good part of the vision of MRH all along: a publication by modelers for modelers, and that goes for the forums as well. I am a big believer in having the MRH staff engaged with our readers. The other publishers' forums tend to have little staff presence, and it's mostly intermediates to beginners making posts.

What we say about the "other" forums is you can make a post and within an hour or two you will get an answer ... and in a few days you might get the right answer! (wink and grin)
