I usually read my MRH in iBooks on my iPad. Occasionally some images do not render, a slight inconvenience. However with the May 2013 Landscape issue the problem had far greater impact. Not only was I not able to see one of the circuit diagrams in the DCC Impulses article, but the majority of the images in the Freight Trucks article did not render.

I decided to conduct some further tests. Using the same file every time ""39.MRH13-05-May2013-L.pdf" I discovered the following:

• iBooks 3.1 on iPad 2 iOS 5.1.1 - many images did not render.
• GoodReader 3.19.2 on iPad 2 iOS 5.1.1 - same images did not render.
• Preview 5.0.3 on Mac Pro OS X 10.6.8 - same images did not render.
• Adobe Reader 11.0.2 on Mac Pro OS X 10.6.8 - all images rendered fine.

My overall impression was that black and white images were the main ones affected.
