I really have no incentive to buy a Tablet OTHER THAN to read MRH.  But that is an option I would like to explore again with Gen2 coming into being, and the coming soon conversion to HTML5.  So all i am interested in is a tablet that will allow me to "experience" (for lack of a better word since one does not just read MRH with videos as a part of it) everything MRH e-zine has to offer (again including videos, 3-D graphics, etc).

Should I wait for MRH to fully convert to HTML5 before even investigating this option?

Thanks all.

Online version is HTML5 now on iOS devices

The online version is already HTML5 on the iPhone and iPad.

If you use GoodReader on iOS or ezPDF reader on Android, the PDF displays very nicely, and links pop up a web browser nicely.

It's already a very nice reading experience on tablets, and workable on a phone.

I was hoping..

....that I could find a tablet that cost less than the iPad.  Will it matter which Tablet I get in terms of functionality.  In other words do I need to get an iPad to get the full experience, or any decent tablet will be the same.

I asked these questions before, but that was with Gen1 and as I recall, there were certain limitations with the tablets and the e-zines funcationality.

Thanks for all the feedback.

I use a Kindle Fire HD

I use a Kindle Fire HD.  Works well for reading the monthly issue and the forums.  However, I have an annoying issue responding to posts on the forum.  I can type a word and the word will just disappear and this turns into a battle.  It takes a while to respond to a post because I am having to type my words two or three times to get the words to stay in the post.  I don't know why this occurs and sometimes I feel like launching the HD into the wall.

Also, there seems to be an issue with how some people post videos.  I wish everyone would add the link under the video when they post.  A lot of the videos are displayed as a broken link.  I do believe it has to do with a cut and paste by the poster.  It is not with all videos, but it is annoying.  Those kind enough to add the link under the video help me to view the video.

Maybe things will improve as MRH evolves.

" find a tablet that cost less than the iPad"

For small tablets the Nexus 7($200) or Kindle fire HD($210 with charger) work well, The kindle fire HD 8.9 is nice if you want a bigger one( costs $280 with charger) . Ipad mini 7.9 inch works well and is very light at $300.  My wife's Ipad mini works great on the MRH forum but for some reason just got a black textured screen when I tried to read the may issue online. I didn't try to figure out why since I'd already read it on my desktop computer. .DaveBranum

Nexus 10, Adobe Reader

I have both an ipad and a nexus 10.  They're both good for reading MRH on (I use Adobe Reader on both).  My favorite way to read it is the portrait version on the nexus 10.  I'm not sure I can put my fine on why I prefer the portrait over the landscape version, but I've tried both and portrait is my choice.

Full disclosure: I'm an Adobe employee.
