Have a pfm united gn 4-6-2 with sound that runs intermittently. That is it may go a couple of inches with the sound operating, stop and possibly resume again or short out with no resumption possible when I hit the reset button. Any suggestions? Thanks . jack F

Have you had the loco apart? I would go through and clean all electrical contact points . You will want to check the tender wipers, clean the trucks and bolsters where they connect , clean drawbar wires, and make sure they contact the post well. Guessing this is an older model with the old style open frame motor ? Might want to check to make sure the motor is isolated compleatly also. ......Mike
