Here are some additional pictures from my CNY&NE Railroad. These are taken from the West Maywood side of the railroad.  This area has the team track, West Maywood industrial track and the connection with the L&HR railroad. There are lots of switching opportunities on this side of the layout.

CNY & NE

Jim: I love your layout! The buildings, bridges, scenery and rolling stock are quite realistic. You need to paint some clouds on the backdrop, however, It is an easy job. Check out Youtube for methods. Yours, Elvin Howland/E. St. Louis Rail Group Layout

Clouds

Actually, there are clouds sprayed on to the backdrop, but they are very subtle and light.  Kind of the way that they are in nature.  I model the northeast and as we northeasterners know, we seldom have big puffy cloud days here! I try not to overdo anything including weathering and use the "just enough" approach and it seems to work for me.

I like your....

....modeling skills and that you have Central New York in your railroad. Living in Syracuse I love the scenery here and I am working on a Finger Lakes Switching layout.

CNY&NE

Thanks for your comments. I used the name CNY&NE because I grew up in NY State and like the NYC, Erie and D&H railroads.  I also live near and enjoy all the railroads in the Maybrook, NY area which is why I added the New England part of the name.  My mainline runs from Patterson, NJ to Oneonta and Utica, NY and is a joint NYC, Erie and D&H bridge line with heavy mainline action and lots of industrial switching to boot.
