I am going to install LED's in an Athearn F unit. I have the resistors and I have done this in other engines. It was easy in my Proto's, but I think these will be a little trickier. It looks like I will have to glue them in place somehow. I was thinking about tacky glue or hot glue for projects (low temp).

Any advice from experienced modelers on this subject would be greatly appreciated. I ahve recieved some of the best advice here, and here is where I came.

Installing LED's

Jim,

Here's a link to Rick Bell's Yahoo website where he covers the installation of a wide range of LED's in different engines along with tips and techniques for decoder installations:  http://groups.yahoo.com/group/RPMclinics-RickBell/?yguid=173333751. There is an Athearn Genesis F7 sound install clinic in the file section in which Rick covers the installation of LED's. You have to belong to Yahoo and sign up for Rick's group, but it's all free and there's a tremendous amount of great information on the site.

Bruce Petrarca also offered a number of LED installation tips in the March 2012 issue of MRH that might be helpful.
