It has been awhile since I added anything to blog. I have been working on scenery and have made some progress.

You can find my first sets of photos at these address:

The photo below shows the west end of the layout with finished country scenery and some of my rolling stock and power.

My New Pride and Joy

After traveling to Alaska last June and riding the Alaska Railroad from Whittier to Denali National Park I have been enchanted with the ARR. Yesterday the Greenberg show came to Syracuse. I attend looking for scenery materials and structure kits to finish the layout. I told myself, "No rolling stock or power. You have enough of both to last the rest of your life."

Well, one dealer had a GP-35 in ARR paint. It was on sale with a 33% discount so.....G.jpg

.....I now have AAR power in the Finger Lakes of Central New York! Not exactly prototype, but I like it.

Back to the layout....

....as it is today. Another shot of the ARR GP-35 behind the quarry with two canoes in it. I still have to add the EZ Water to the quarry.

The canoes are from Woodland Scenics, the GP is from Bachmann. In the background is the interlocking tower. It is an old kit from Demi-Trains that I found on Ebay. it is the latest thing I have completed.

Below is the east end on the layout. it is the industrial part of the plan.

More of the east end. The flats in the back are kitbashed (my first attempts). They are old Heljan kits from years ago.

The last photo is a closer look at the interlocking tower.

Heljan Kitbashes

Great job, especially for a first kitbash effort.  Keep us all posted on your progress - the layout is really starting to look like something!
