Lately I have been adding photo backdrops that I printed.  Here are some progress shots.  Still need to blend in some of them in areas.

Most of the backdrops were stictched together in Photoshop often replacing the sky with more distant mountains from the foreground. I print these on my HP color laserjet and then stitch them together.  It is very economical, although the stitching is more visible, but not so bad when viewed from a few feet away.

I am very impressed with the realism Rob.

Where did you obtain your source material?

Photo location

Hi Rob,

Nice work ... maybe I'm wrong but is the first backdrop photo the Ghost town of Bodie ???

Great idea for a backdrop.

nice!

Good looking pics Rob! I especially like that first one with Bodie in the back you carried out what I had just an idea of doing. The weathering on that BNSF hopper is great!

thanks!

Yes, you are both indeed correct. I used Bodie as the backdrop for Mina, NV. Heck, Mina is just about a ghost town now, so it made sense. I replaced the sky at Bodie with a distant shot of the Sierra for more interest. Rob
