To All: I was not here yesterday as I was at the Jacksonville, Florida Art Walk to support my Daughter's and Grand Daughter's art work. Today I am changing up the post to GN RR "Circus" Cars: Photo #! through Photo #4-The Great Northern RR painted numerous boxcars in experimental schemes. Note they had round reflectors stripes along the side sills. Some had the truck journal covers painted yellow. I painted and lettered these cars using photos as a reference. These cars were called "Circus" cars by rail fans because of their bright colors.I was not able to do all the cars, as decals for all of them were not available. However, none of the experimental paint schemes were adopted. Photo #5-This car was not one the "Circus" cars, but I included it. The GN RR lettered this car "750,000 Car Over The Galvin Hump, Minot, N.D.,July 1958" ,on steel plates over the doors. I bought the decals commercially (I do not remember where). I will continue the "Parade of Early Rail Equipment" tomorrow. Yours, Elvin Howland/E. St. Louis Rail Group Layout

The yellow journal box covers

I had never noticed the yellow journal box covers before (at least that I remember).  Thanks for that.  Since I have the Athearn set, (not prototypical, I know) I will at least look up which had the yellow and add that detail.

You did a very nice job on your cars. Thanks for sharing.
