Starting my lime stone quarry module. Needed a change of pace from building R/C cranes and R/C steam engines. I have in mind to model a lime stone quarry. There's was one located not far from me in Leroy, New York. It's located between the old B, R, & P and the Lehigh Valley.

Trying out a track arrangement.

Final track arrangement.

Laying down the track.

Track finished, ready to be installed on the layout with wooden ties.

Oh, here's what I'm basing my storage bunker on. A 3 part article in Model Railroader circa 1954 when they published decent scratch building articles.

Next it's on to the 3 turnouts. That'll take some time.

That's a really neat looking structure

That gravel storage bunker is a really neat looking structure. I don't know the proper terminology but those outside braced wooden bunkers were pretty common and I don't seem them modelled all that often. It should be a great model!

Neat Structure

Not to many people scratch build anymore either. That could be why you don't see model structures like this. Another thing many people model more modern facilities, and us such structures as Walthers "Glacier Gravel Company".

Yep, I think it's going to be a fun project. I plan on using working conveyor belts. That'll be even more fun.

The Los Nietos bunker...

... was a very detailed construction article. It still looks great 59 years later. Jose.
