Deluxe Innovations Maxi Stacks vs. Athearn Husky Stack

Currently running a Deluxe Innovations Maxi Stack III set on my N-Scale layout.  I have been extremly pleased with this set.

Currently looking at purchasing additional intermodal rolling stock and see where Athearn now has Husky Stack cars I have considered purchasing.

Looking for feedback on Athearns Husky Stacks.  Do they run well, how do they compare with Deluxe Innovation's Maxi Stacks, Etc.....

I like both. The DI one tends to be tricky to maneuver off layout since it's an articulated set, whereas the Walthers, while appearing articulated on layout are actually different sets off layout. I think there is a little more weight to the Walthers ones as well,

Maxi Stacks vs Husky Stacks

I haven't seen the DI ones yet but I do have ten 48 foot Walthers N-Scale Maxi Stacks. I have only run 6 of them so far. I had to convert them to MT couplers since they originally came with the old style couplers. The four I haven't run still need to be converted and I haven't gotten around to doing that just yet. They are heavy for N-Scale rolling stock and seem to track nicely or at least they did when I ran them last February just before the club lost its space.

In any case, one can always add extra weight to the containers these cars were designed to carry. Just put that weight in the bottom containers because they will do you no ggod in top ones and probably cause derailments if you do.

One thing you might look into is getting a few of those orange or yellow Walthers N-Scale MI-Jack "Translift" Intermodal Cranes for your layout. They look right and you'll probably need something like that to load and transfer containers to and from trucks and the Maxi Stacks. I have 3 but haven't assembled any of them yet. They don't look so hard but then I have built plastic models of all sorts for most of my life and I know a few tricks that might be useful here.
