David Calhoun

After several attempts to "reorganize" my thoughts with suggestions from my last posting, I have come to the realization that efficient and innovative layout design is not my true forte. I am looking for someone who can incorporate the two designs I like best into a practical and efficient layout for reasonable compensation.

I can give copies of the portions of design I favor along with space measurements and my preferences to include rolling stock and motive power. I am looking for continuous running coupled with local freights that can be run by myself and/or up to three additional operators.

Basically, I need a track plan that I can follow, build with relative ease, and with notes on electrical (DCC) connections with the use of ground throws as much as possible. This should be the railroad I can work on and one day pass along to my brothers and sons. If you think you'd be interested, contact me at gryhound1@verizon.net for exact details.

As Clint would say: "A man has got to know his limitations. . . . ." When it comes to track planning, I believe I've met mine. Thanks.

Design Help

I contacted M.C. Fujiwara of Yardgoat Layout Design. He is the best. Prices are reasonable and his work is great. Search this site for his modeling and his web site. Jim

One more name

I'm sure you'll be happy with the services of any of the people named above. I can personally recommend Byron Henderson from http://www.layoutvision.com The plan he came up with for me is posted in his design gallery: http://www.layoutvision.com/gallery/id49.htmlAfter several years trying to learn more about planning/design/operation, I realized I wasn't "getting it". More importantly, I had wasted tons of time trying to understand a part of the hobby I really don't enjoy. All I had to show for my efforts was a bunch of doodles on legal pads, a collection of books, and zero progress. In addition to drawing the plan, he includeds a list of exactly what type and how many turnouts are to be used, suggested buildings and bridges, grades, elevation of track and benchwork, and full size PDF's that act basically as a blue print for building what he drew. You can reach him via email: LayoutVision@gmail.com Good luck! Bill
