In the meantime I've ordered some cool Trees from another Friend:

I also found out the small szene strip was to small for the Trees, I had also an idea in mind to have something like a background Diorama that I can use for all other Dioramas to hide my Neighbours House, so I've asked Stefan to make me a Background Piece:

Stefans work is always excellent and now I was ready to use all that stuff.

Static Grass Generator

Aussie Scenics make a nice one and sells for lots less than Noch or some other brand names, Oatley Electronics here in Australia have the ION generator (which I have bought), however after discovering Aussie Scenics version for the price my generator has become "spare parts". I am not affiliated with either company and am just passing information on.

Due to advertising agreements or MRH I suggest googling either of above names so I don't get the wrath of Joe

Static Grass Applicator

There is a UK company who have some outstanding and not-too-expensive static grass applicators.  There is a starter pack, which as the UK£ sinks against the US$ becomes more attractive when you are overseas.

Finescale Model World have two sizes of applicator and they have all the usual grass supplies too.  I have bought one after seeing several reviews in the printed modeling magazines.

Happy modeling

Norman

A rolling stone . . .

Great looking trees, however - and I'm not trying to be a nitpicker - take another look at the tree that has the broken trunk.  Moss typically grows on only one side of a tree (the north).

Moss

As for moss typically growing on the north side of a tree, I can assure you that this isn't quite typical. Moss usually grows on older trees, both conifer and deciduous, depending upon their geographic location. If a tree receives sunshine on its trunk then chances are that the moss will only grow on the north side or the shaded side. If the trunk of a tree receives little or no sunshine then the moss will grow on all sides of the tree if it so desires. This usually happens in areas that are quite moist and where the forest is quite thick. I've seen this in both central and eastern Canada, the boreal forest, foothills of the Rockies and here on the west coast. Even if an area has been logged and a tree with moss on all sides is left standing and then starts to receive sunshine, that moss will still propagate and continue to grow on the trunks. Here on the wet coast moss grows everywhere, trees, rocks, lawns, fences, houses, metal buildings, roofs, sidewalks, roads, everywhere. I have a pear tree in my backyard that receives direct sunlight throughout the year when the sun is out and there is moss on all sides of the tree trunk and its older branches.

I guess what I'm trying to say is that it depends on the geographic area that you are modeling and the type of forest/woodland that you are trying to recreate. Again, a picture of a tree/trees from the area you are trying to model will help determine where the moss should go.

Just my pennies worth.

Thanks, Roy

I was going to chime in on that, but you've said it well.  Moss growth is dependent on a number of factors.
