Recently purchase the Model Tech Studio background kit The Old Mill. Have an issue with the 2 cast cornices that come with the kit - they are bowed - probably to the tune of about 1/2 inch. Any ideas on how to make them flat - not sure that glue will keep them flat when assembling them to the wall.

Maybe gentle heat? If the

Maybe gentle heat? If the casting is resin it is a form of plastic you may be able to remove the warping with GENTLE heat. You could try immersing the casting in hot water and slowly raise the temperature a little at a time. Carefully remove the casting (not burning yourself) and see if it is pliable. When it becomes pliable form it to the correct shape and hold it there (with weights, clamps, hands) until it cools. If you can't get it hot enough by heating it in water you could heat it in peanut oil being CAREFUL not to burn yourself. I have heated and curved styrene using the hot water process with great results; however, I have not tried it on resin pieces. Good luck!
