Sometime ago, there was a blog entry admiring a workbench purchased from a box type of store in the ( I think ) Northwest.  I have searched the blogs with the search engine and reading them again and can't seem to find the entry.  If you could help, I would appreciate it.

Workbench

Was it the one I purchased at Harbor Freight to complete my area on The Greater Nickel Plate?

Workbench Harbor Freight

I recently got a fly from HF showing a coupon sale on the 60 inch bench show in photo for $140 (reg. $230)

For any workbench, I would consider seating comfort (and method).

One workbench I used was put together with a 3ft high section of the heavy duty shelving at Costco with a 2ftx4ft top of smooth particle board.  I used cheap ($0.75) plastic cutting boards (from a local surplus/odd lot store) taped to the board for cutting and painting.

Thank you David and doc-in-ct.  the workbench I am looking for was white and looked like something you could put in the livingroom and not be in too much trouble.

Thanks

Nice looking workbench

Look for an old rolltop desk, so when you're done for the day just roll the cover down and hide everything without disturbing anything. Google rolltop desk and check the pics. Jose.

Wow, good idea with the roll

Wow, good idea with the roll top desk.  I have to put everything away, every night. as we care for my grandsons while their parents are at work, lol.  My "man cave" is just off the living room in an enclosed porch.

Two metal desks

I use two surplus metal office desks. They are solid, good height and the drawers are very handy.

Attached is my two desks, Im trying to stay organized with one as my electronics bench and the smaller one as my modeling desk. I tend to mix between the two and its a challenge for me to keep them orderly!

Roll Top Desk +1

I used a roll top desk in my living room for several years until I built a permanent workbench in my train room.  I recently decided to reactivate the roll top so I can build small projects while watching TV.  I'm starting to restock it with tools and pieces-parts.

It's nice to be able to pull the top down and everything looks in order
