Has anyone else encountered long delays receiving product from California Roadbed???  I placed my order November 5th, and my credit card was charged November 20th, but I still don't have anything to show for it.  I have emailed Richard at least once and spoke with him on the phone right before Christmas.  I know that he is having health issues, but it really is bad practice to charge me for the product without shipping it.

My Order Came In OK

I placed an order in about mid December and it arrived just shy of 4 weeks later in January this year.  I was also worried about delivery prior to placing the order based on other's experience, but I lucked out I guess.

Maybe another phone call would be in order.

Same problems

I've used their products for my N scale G&AM but switched to cork when I changed to HO. I had lots of trouble getting Richard to ship my last 2 orders. He's never available, if he promises you a ship date it's not reliable, it takes forever. I really miss the product but it's not worth the hassle.

I contacted him today via both email and left a VM.  We'll see where that goes.  I'll update everyone when I know more.

Just received UPS tracking info.

I just received my UPS tracking info for my order today. I ordered around the same time as you so hopefully yours will be on the way. He called me about 10 days ago to apologize for the delay and that he had some serious health problems and was trying to catch up.

This is a product that I have not heard of before,,Can someone fill me in on what it is and what the advantages might be..Thanks, BILL

The referenced company makes a roadbed product from Homasote.  Your best bet is to go to the company's web site at http://www.homabed.com.

It is an excellent product that takes nails and spikes very well.  I used it on my layout and am very pleased.

An Update

I thought I was making progress!  Richard emailed me back on February 8 saying that he got my various emails and phone messages.  It seems that FedEx lost my package that was shipped in late November.  He also said that he was shipping a replacement order for me the following Monday.

I checked in with him on the 13th to make sure the order had gone out and to get a new tracking number.  He replied that UPS should have sent me a tracking number and that he was away from the shop due to a family issue and would send me the tracking info when he was back the following Monday.

I have emailed him a couple times this week to get the tracking number and those emails were not returned.

I love his product, but this run-around is a bit ridiculous.  I'm starting to think "Fool me once, shame on me. Fool me twice...."  I will try to contact him again today, if he doesn't get back to me, I think it's time to get the credit card company involved...

Lost shipment

Ryan,

He always blames FedEx or UPS. He did it to me twice. Seems to be his standard mode of operation. Then the replacement gets lost, too. It's a bad, bad world out there!

I'm using cork now.
