I snapped these up at Springfield yesterday--at fist glance, I planned on repainting them.  But, they are pretty, and I was wondering if they existed for real, or are Roundhouse doing some freelanced cars?

Bicentennial cars

They are free lance cars. Those cars are from 1890's I believe and none survived into 1976 that I know of. Many locomotives were painted in Bicentennial schemes.

Considering the Bicentennial fever...

...that gripped the country in 1976 (everything was being painted RW&B) it wouldn't surprise me if some railroad, museum or private owner did this paint scheme or something similar.

Bicentenail fever...

I well remember Bicentennial Fever, and seeing the Freedom Train running.  (As a kid, the outside, moving, was more impressive than the inside.)

I'm torn between keeping them as is, and redoing them in a scheme suitable for my layout to-be.
