End of Track Devices

I saw a photo of about 6 cars piled up at the end of the track. And what marvelous device was used? A steel pole with a sign reading "End Of Track" placed between the rails. I just can not understand why the engineer didn't see it! Cheap and not effective.

Loved that Episode!

Those Top Gear guys are so over the top.  How cool would that be driving an Audi down the tracks?

About days gone by

Thank you, Greg, for this reference. In my opinion, this is one of the few full faceted exhibits of middle 20th century railroading industry. It covers about every part and in great detail. Some credit, I'm sure, goes to the narrator, Lowell Thomas - the epitome of presentation. I really enjoyed this. I recommend it to all interested in railroading.

LMAO!

Don't think Amtrak has seen that one yet, if they do they might take them up on some of their ideas....

Yes I agree that it shows what the service the Railroads use to give to move Passengers, and freight. And they wonder why they don't make money like they use to....
