This weekend it was 8 degrees and I have over a foot of snow in the yard.  Wife didn't want to go outside, so I built the benchwork for my layout!  What fun.  It is just temporarily held together with clamps as I've got to finish the clouds on the backdrop.

For more details, check out the blog post.

Great job and Great Pictures

Checked out web post nice job on pictures. Good place for someone who has not built RR to go and see how it's done.

You have a...

great start! I will look forward to seeing more photos. I have just started a small switching layout, The Finger Lakes RR in Upstate NY.

Trains by the fireplace

That is a very nice train room to spend time in, comfy, good lighting, and great looking benchwork.

Thanks for the Comments

The room is indeed comfy.  Fireplace, windows, large screen tv for model train videos, built in cabinets and bookcases.  Its just too small.

We went to look at a new house the other day.  1,200 sq ft finished in the basement.

We'll be moving soon...so I have to finish this layout quickly!

WHAT??? You're moving again?

WHAT??? You're moving again? I'm starting to think that you keep moving so you won't have to get a railroad running!

The Railroad Has Wheels!

I need more basement, Rick.  Just not enough room here.

But this layout is designed to be both mobile, and to be a blob down an aisle.  I can move it out in a short while, minus the back drop.
