Hi Folks,

first of all, I wish your all a happy new Year 2013, might all of your Milestones be reached this year.

After I've already done some postings on MRH I'd like to introduce myself.

My name is Mike and I live near Frankfurt/Main, Germany, I am 36 years old, working as an Engineer for QA of Hot Rolled Asphalt - hopefully I got the right translation ?

I'm married and have a two year old daughter.

I started model railroading about 20 years ago, mainly on HO. Due to lack of available space in the place where I live now I switched over to N-Scale (Longer trains rule .)

Because I find the history of US Railroads very impressive, I "infected" myself about 7 years ago and started diving deeper into history of the Norfolk&Western Railroad.

Although I'd never been to the US, and never could see your great RRs live, I set the theme of my model railroad to the Appalachian Region and loosely based it on the Norfolk&Western Railroad and try to hit the appearance as best as possible.

Regard,

Mike

cheers,
Mike

Greetings, Mike!

We're glad to have you aboard! We share a little in common as in a previous career I was a service tech for Gencor Industries. Gencor produces asphalt plants - both the "batch" variety and the "continuous drum" style plants. I used to start up new plants and work on the asphalt burners, which are basically giant flame throwers! I look forward to seeing your postings.
