Two part video on getting started on a Layout Editor Panel using NCE system.  Please post questions and comments.  I know their is detail missing but I can only go so far.  If you can do these two task you can grow from their.

Question on your block detection

Thanks for posting the videos.  This has helped me get started on automating my layout.  Do you actually have a block detection (BD20) on each turnout?

YES ON EVERY TURNOUT

I only detect the main line and any switch that touches it or a siding off the main. You can right click on the turnout icon on the panel and click on box that says, "Disable if Occupied" You can use the JMRI logic to get around this if you plan on using signals. You can set delays in the logic so the signal does not change right away.
