Lake Junction Models ( http://www.lakejunctionmodels.com) has a laser-cut craftsman kit for a Standard Northern Depot as used on the Missouri Pacific and the St. Louis Iron Mountain & Southern railroads. While under common management, the two railroads used a series of standard designs for their wood stations. They were usually built with the waiting room and operator’s bay of a common size, however, the dimensions of the freight room varied to meet the anticipated volume of local freight.

Features of the 9.625 x 4.5-inch (over the eaves) building include tabbed construction on both interior and exterior walls, one-piece wall sections with laser-scribed V-grove wainscoting and board & batten siding, two-piece positionable window sash, self-adhesive windows and trim, raised panels on non-freight doors, self-sticking diamond shingles, decorative lattice for the gable ends and downloadable (PDF) instructions. The HO scale kit sells for $60 and is available with the bay and waiting room on the right or on the left as shown above.
