Since the beginning - I have always assembled car kits then painted and decaled them. Careful masking when required, touching up where a color wasn't wanted. Careful handling and support to ensure decals were properly aligned.

Jim's method of pre-painting and decaling the reefer sides was a 'why didn't I think about that idea'?

Everyone pre-paints sub assembles of structures when building them. Been doing it for years.

Never thought about the same process for a car.
