Love what you have done and your reasons for it. Looking forward to the rest of the story.

Thanks, Jack

It has really been an enjoyable journey and I've learned so much.  Even my Mom has been following along, checking in regularly to see how it is going.  She perhaps feels a tiny bit of guilt for throwing out the original version after I left home, but she needn't feel guilty about that.  They didn't need to move it what would have been four or five times before I could take it back.  I'm quite happy with the results overall and have several improvements to make and details to add as I feel like doing so.  The biggest win might have been the sanity it brought me during the lockdowns.

Thank you

David, I want to thank you for this article. I am about to start my layout and this series will be invaluable. I am especially interested in the streams and ponds as I plan several. So far, I have learned something from each new section. Again, thank you.

Thanks

RicharH, thank you for following along.  I'm glad you are getting something out of this.  Water was always the scariest thing for me to do but once I practiced it a few times on dioramas and test pieces, I was so much more confident with it.  The Woodland Scenics' water products are also great to get easy, consistent results to start with, then you can experiment further with other products if you wish.

Thanks

Really enjoying your series, Dave.   Did you follow any particular instructions for making your own static grass applicator, or maybe document the making of your own?
