Those ground up leaves are

Those ground up leaves are pretty neat.  I thought I'd buy one of those $8 blenders and give it try.  He got a good deal.  They're not $8 where I looked on Amazon and eBay.  More like 4 times that much.  Better think this over Deane.

@ Deane

For a leaf blender look at a thrift store.  They tend to run $5-$10 for a decent enough one.  If you want to go coffee grinder go new as you will never get the coffee out of it = though I know there are some who have used tea leaves so....

Any blender will work.

I use a blender similar to the one shown here. I got it from the local thrift store for $5.00

I use it to make the ground scatter with leaves, also to make Ground Foam from sponges and bits of cushion/pillow/mattress foam. For the foam, you just add some water and the colour paint you want.

I bought one of the Magic

I bought one of the Magic Bullet blenders from Amazon for $29 shipped.  Also a kitchen strainer today.  I was sort of motivated when I discovered the wind had blown up a nice pile of very dry Oak leaves by my garage door.  They now reside in a box inside waiting to become mulch.

I have a bunch of those Bachmann trees with the plastic mulch mound at the bottom which needs covering.  Reading this article caused me to think maybe I now have a solution to realistically covering that base so it looks like real mulch.  Time will tell as I get to it.

Lot's of scenery work going on.  The internet has provided so much inspiration to try things.

I just tried Woodland Scenics new chain link fence.  Looks very realistic and it's made pretty tough.
