I'll second Ken's sentiments.

I'll second Ken's sentiments. Bruce, I always looked forward to your column so I could absorb as much DCC info as possible. I wish you the best in your further endeavours and please, don't be a stranger.

Thank you, Bruce

This being your last column, Bruce, puts me in a quandary.  What do I read first when MRH comes out?

I’ve managed to learn a tremendous base of knowledge of all things DCC by reading your column and gained confidence in trying many of the things you have explained over these eposiodes.

High green and safe travels in your future.

I share Karl's quandary

Bruce, your collum was always the first thing I looked for in MRH magazine. You insights will be missed. You always made me feel "I can do that."

All the best in all your future endeavors.

Speakers

Hey Bruce,

Yes, we ALL will miss your regular appearances here, but I for one hope you'll still be around for a while... you know, so we can make fun of you!

You've always done pioneering work in on board sound.  To bad this last article came out before you discovered a new kid on the block (the last 2-3 months or so).  His name is John Burke, goes by 'Jt'.  He's a real sharp kid, and he's done the on board speaker design work that no one else ever has thought to... and his results are audibly superior to everything out there.  He calls his new business, Scale Sound Systems:

https://www.scalesoundsystems.com

If you think I'm exaggerating at all, go give his results a listen.  He's brought impeccable acoustic engineering to his  designs, and is doing some stuff no one else has done before (seriously!).  Just listen to his work in the tubes on his website and see (hear if I'm exaggerating.  When I first heard his stuff I didn't believe my ears, so I contacted him and am tickled to say we've become friends... he still won't tell me exactly what he's doing, but his secret sauce is demonstrably audible!

Anyway, we'll miss you Bruce, I hope to see you around,

jim

Speakers with Enclosures

@Jim Wells,

Thanks for sharing JT's website.  Looks like he starts with a good sugar cube type speaker and adds a custom 3D printed enclosure, many versions of which have internal baffles, to help smooth out the mid-highs and enhance the lower frequencies.  Quite impressive.

Happy travels, Bruce

Thanks for all the advice you have provided to our community. You will be missed! Have read numerous articles by many authors but yours are among the most informative and enjoyable to read. Hope to bump into you at some modeling or full size train event somewhere down the line.

Thanks, Ken

When you posted this note, Linda and I were enjoying diving in the Caribbean off the island of Bonaire.

Perhaps we'll cross paths - Gonna be at the NMRA National Convention in Utah this summer?
