On the Southern Pacific

On my HO layout, I protected my crossing flashers the same way the SP did: I just bent a short segment of rail and supported it with even shorter pieces of rail driven into the ground. All painted silver.

Cool Idea!

I'm wondering what size of wire would work in HO?  Maybe 12 or 14 gauge?  14 would be much easier to bend.

living in Germany, what made you focus on northeast Ohio?  I grew up there but never heard of it being modeled.  Are you modeling the coal and iron ore transfer, such as in Ashtabula harbor? I went to Harbor High....
