Out of curiosity...

Just out of curiosity....

I'm painfully aware of the challenges of those tiny #80 drill bits in making hand grab holes in HO-scale, so in looking over this brilliant chart, I'm curious as to what would be used for applying handrails and grabs on an N-scale model. And, for that matter, do Z-scalers use anything approaching scale-sized handrails or are they oversized out of practical necessity?

When I was modeling in N scale I found that molded on details were fine enough for the viewing distances from the operators aisle.  MTL and other high quality N models come with quite convincing details even though they are not scale sized or separate from the shell.
