Thank you for publishing this article!

I'm sorry to hear that Richard Napper has passed away.  I'm also sorry that I never got to meet him while he was living.  Those jigs he designed look like a great way to make custom windows, doors, and stairs.  With the increased interest in prototype modeling, articles like this are great for those of us who need t make buildings exactly like our prototype rather than just using some generic fill in building that everybody else has on their railroad!

Lots of Ideas!

I'm looking at these jigs and I have all sorts of ideas for other jigs to make different types of windows and stairs. All it takes is a simple image, and a little explaining, and the entire model world opens up.

Styrene filler from scaps

What a GREAT idea!  Can't think of a better use for the piles of scrap styrene we all have sitting on my workbench.  Though I know MEK will weld styrene by dissolving the contact surfaces, it never occurred to me that an entire jar of dissolved styrene would serve as a non-shrinking filler.  :-D

Doesn't sound like a very healthy thing to have sitting around and to breathe?  I don't even like the smell of a small amount on a glue joint :> )  ...DaveB
