Since I'm SLowly doing on in N scale

This was timely kick in the pants to get some work done.  Nice to see the process of choosing details, etc.

I actually have 3 of these locos along with an Atlas Gold B23-7 that I bought to install the BQ body. Great article!

unique & odd

Which is what I like to see. Now all I need to do, is find the parts & pieces for one. LOL

Found an image of this this on bing this morning. Checked on E-bay, said there was an article on it, in the July 1983 MR issue. We looked through a stack of MR that I had been given to me last year. I'm sure glad I brought them home with me. The issue was in there.

BQ23-7's

Rick,

Greetings from North Dakota. A few months back I managed to finally get a Bachmann BQ. However, Somewhere in it's life, someone stuffed the shell onto an Athearn 6 wheel frame, instead of it's proper 4 wheel frame. The closet frame I have is a Athearn U33C.

1.  Have you heard of anyone using the U33C instead?

2. Or have they just purchased the atlas frame?

3. Are yours still in the SCL paint scheme, or something else?

Thank you in advance for your assistance.

Charlie

Freelancing

Be fun to put a pair of those crew cabs on a C30-7 or SD40 frame and create a double-ender a la the Irish EMD units.
