Rocks!

Nice layout. looks like you've got a real good club going.

I would have loved to see a shot of the "rocks" out front. I had to do  a bit of excavating in my basement as well, surely not to the same extent as you folks, but I'm well aware of the work involved. I still walk with a hunch!

The rocks....

I'll be up in the area this weekend. I don't know if I'll have access or time, but if I do I'll try to remember to get over there and snap a photo of some of the rocks.

Great article on a great railroad! I am not up to doing the Patriot Rail colors, but my Columbia and Cowlitz RR is a match in Blue and Grey. I am looking forward to seeing your railroad at the tour in 2015, and would love to operate on it. I enjoy all operations but really get into yard and industrial switching. Kudos on a fine job and thanks for sharing. John Colley, Port Townsend, WA

I really liked the length of this article.  The interviewer had enough space to delve into the subjects and allow the members to explain their thinking and results.  I had a really good feel for the atmosphere of the club and how things are run.  I may have to plan a trip to visit during the national in 2015.  This article would be the motivation for that trip.  Thanks!

One suggestion would be to mention that the track plan appears on page XX at the beginning of the article.  I like to follow the track plan as the various scenery areas are mentioned in an article about a layout.

If people are interested, we can work up an article on the operating plan.  Car card & waybill ops usually involve 15 to 18 people for eight hours, in a two-day split session. Scenery is progressing slowly.
