DCC impulses

I read Bruce's article with great interest as I am a 'professional installer'. I have run a business for several years in Scotland (UK) specialising in all things DCC, I install (sound & running) decoders as well as lighting etc, and I do approx. 150+  per year. Often the problems are more loco based and the expectations of the owner. As most serious DCC modellers know- you can't make a poor runner better by putting a decoder into it.

Bruce's article has covered very well the same problems we have on the other side of the pond,  DCC in the UK is still treated with suspicion by many modellers, but slowly and surely people like myself are helping and changing this attitude.

PS. I model USA era 50-60's and I love all things American when it comes to railroads. Thanks for great magazine

Hit all the high points

Another great article Bruce. Sending a loco out to have DCC and sound installed often costs more than the loco. Many of us want to make sure we get what we are asking for, and want to know what words and phrases we should be saying to the digital guru so our wishes come true. Video -- Sources for Parts

Great Article Bruce...loved the video.

I have got to get the 5 pin mini-plug that you show in the video.  A great technique for mis-connecting plugs from the board to various lights.  Can you share the source for this part?

Plug

I make them from http://www.litchfieldstation.com/xcart/product.php?productid=999003204

I established and built that business as an all-in-one DCC supplier: systems, decoders, supplies, tools, etc. Yes, Mr. President, I did build it!

The current owner has expanded beyond what I had in most cases. Almost everything that I recommend, even Nano Oil, is available from them.

I sold the business in early 2010. I have had no pecuinary interest in them since that time.
