Errata

 4. NCE URL: http://ncedcc.com

42: The Des Plaines Hobbies 40' MOD boxcar is in S Scale.

60: You might spy the outlines of pickup trucks inside the Auto Rack. Those are brass silhouettes made up by Intermountain for the display model. I didn't get the impression that they intended to make and sell them as a product.

More Errata

Noticed captions on page 155:

Figure 80 ("80:") is something different - this caption is duplicated.

Bill D.

N Scale (1:160), not N Gauge. DC (analog), Stapleton PWM Throttle.

Duplicated Caption

Yeah, I'm not sure what happened there - 80 is actually 62. I'm guessing that was a paste-up error as the article was being put together.

The correct 80 is in the middle of the Michigan Lego Train Club on page 158.

Righto

Yes, Jeff - I understood the nature of the error; I was just giving feedback for the editor were the copy to be adjusted.

Great coverage of the show - your pictures are always a joy to see.

NTS Grand Rapids

Some nice pics, but some names of the people in the layout pics would be nice.

There were four Z layouts but only two made the mag, will there be more updates.

There were two Grand River Valley club layouts there, our S gauge (pictured) and my Z (not pictured).

Do you have any info on who won awards? The only ones I know about are Mr. Dave's ,Golden,Blackhawk & Central City.Nobody else I have talked to has a clue either.

The NTS was a lot of fun ,but not something you want to display at by yourself. It is a GREAT ego booster though.

More updates....

I do have more photos (I sent Joe over 100 to cull from, and I have a _lot_ more that I didn't send up), although I don't know that I have any of other layouts. That was basically a result of me running around on Sunday morning (and I know I missed at least a couple).

Each convention I learn something new... to do at the next convention/train show. This time it is to map out the layouts and tick off getting photos of them all. Another thing is to get a printed list of the contest winners once they're announced, since over the speakers it sounds like the adults talking on a Charlie Brown cartoon.

I will be posting more photos. Need to do some editing on them and figure out which ones to post as well - I have assorted close-up shots on many of the cars and locomotives that were in the magazine, for instance.

Which brings up a question that we might as well start discussing now: "What sort of things/people would you like to have me photograph at the shows I attend?"

Ummm

Clicking on the 'Want to Read?' link above takes me to "Reverse Running." Which is interesting in its own way, but not the NTS.

NTS Grand Rapids pt 2

Jeff

my preference is layout pics especially of modeling that you like like or at least find interesting. The new product pics are welcome too,but new stuff in any scale is getting priced out of my reach.Still the pics are great to scam ideas from.

I got no chance to run around with my camera because for most of the time I was busy answering questions about my layout.

Most asked question. What scale is that? I was amazed at the number of people who thought it was  N scale.

When told Z scale the next thing I heard "Boy is that tiny".

Next question was ,"How do you see to put them  the track?" Answer ,"Close one eye".

NTS Grand Rapids Pt 3

Jeff if your interestedin knowing the T layout belongs to Gayle and Thomas Cipele

The Z modular belongs to Ellen who you can see just a part of,Thom who owns the section in front of him.

LWH3 Inc

I was intrigued by the 4 "Rick Lull" products, but the domain listed on one of the boards (www.lwh3.com) is a blank page.  For LWH3 Inc., Google shows an email contact for Rick via rogue442 (AT) mindspring.com, and that's about it.

Surprised a company would go to the trouble of displaying at NMRA and not be ready with public info, but perhaps this will emerge soon.

re: LWH3, Inc Digitrax Breakout Boards

The website is now live at www.lwh3.com - didn't get a chance to get to that before I headed out to the convention.

We (I) didn't display anything at the show; but walked around to talk to dealers about the boards. A few dealers were interested and some have already stocked up the boards.

Email wise, you can either email contact (at) lwh3.com or use the contact form on the website.

Thanks!

Delete the semicolon from the link...

'cause it don't work with it...

An omission

It's not errata, but a blatant error occured in #35.

The Walther's scale comparison shows G, O, HO, N, & Z which of course left out my favorite scale.

Why?

At a hobby shop

I once heard the owner tell a customer inquiring about 1:64 scale that there was no such thing and that O and HO are the only options.  I wasn't sure if he really didn't know or if he was just trying to sell him something he had in stock.
