HO DCC install

The author mentions he will focus on HO installations since it is the most popular scale.

YES, HO scale is popular but it FAILS for N and Z scale.  This is because there is a HUGE

amount of room in an HO engine to run wires, locate decoders etc.  Try working in N scale.

If a decoder will fit in N scale, it is a breeze to fit in HO, G or any other larger scale.  But not vice-versa.

SIZE does matter.

Thanks

Thanks for tackling this complex subject!  I think the more decoder installation examples MRH can show, the better off we all will be, as there are so many different possibilities out there.  I am really looking forward to lights and sound installation ideas.  Thanks so much for doing this.  One Athearn Blue box down, 5 more to go.

DCC Impulses

As one who has had a number of successes and failures in DCC installations, this article was very helpful in reiterating the important steps to consider before sticking wires into parts unknown. I'm a looking forward to more from Bruce!
