Other common questions ...
What's a download?
Copying the magazine from our web server down to your local computer is called a "Download". Once copied to your computer, you can:
- User Adobe Reader (PC) or Preview (Mac) to rapidly flip through the magazine's pages without the delays caused by individual page fetches over the internet.
- File the magazine for future reference and later find things quicky with your computer's search feature.
- However, the download itself can take a while, especially if you have a slow internet connection.
- Download the 'Standard' edition (all computers) for a faster download, but you'll need an active internet connection to play the animations and video clips in the magazine
- Download the 'Embedded' edition (PC only), which is a much larger file, but you can view the magazine later without an internet connection. All animations and video clips are embedded in the magazine file.
What's a "download wizard" and should I use it or the other download options?
The download wizard uses Adobe Flash to provide you with a "one click" downloader for our magazine and we recommend it as the simplest way to download our magazine.
However, not all computers deal with Flash properly, so if the download wizard isn't working for you, then click the other download options link below the download button. The other download options do not use Flash.
OK, I've downloaded the magazine. How do I look at it?
We recommend downloading the magazine file directly to your computer's desktop. This puts an icon for the magazine right on your desktop, which makes it very easy to find.
Double click this icon to open the magazine using either Adobe Reader (PCs) or Preview (Macs).
You can easily browse the magazine page-by-page or click Index and/or Contents (on the bottom navbar) to jump directly to an article.
