Christmas Micro

I made a simple point to point micro layout (operating diorama) for a micro model railway contest on Facebook. The baseboard is made from foamcore that is 38 inches long and 6 inches deep at its widest point. The total layout size is 135 square inches, including staging. I'm using On30 equipment from Bachmann.

Keith Lane

In case you missed it, the photo was also posted to the "Aerials' topic.  It partially shows the Keith Lane shops and tower area.

From the left bottom upwards, the tracks are for the City Yard (black ballast), the up and down mains (grey ballast), and the yard lead (black ballast).  At the right bottom, the tracks are a runaround, the single main track branching into two main tracks passing the station, the freight A/D track, and the yard lead.

In the 1st week of October, I visited the modell-hobby-spiel fair in Leipzig, Germany. An absolute highlight was the H0 layout "Pocahontas Mining Company".

I'd like to share my freelanced home layout - the Cleveland & Eastern RR - with you.
It is built as a walk in layout and covers 25 sqm room.

Weathering some Rapido GP20 tank cars

Rapido Model Trains recently released a nicely rendered model of the Procor GP20 20,000 gallon general purpose tank car.  These were ubiquitous in my modelling era and locale so I need a bunch of them.  I decided to try my hand at weathering them and they turned out pretty nicely.  More here:

Changing my modeling "flavor", and seeking inspiration during the building phase

Well, not to much to explain, as that's what the video is for. I decided to focus on industrial "what if" shortline railroading as an experiment, until I finish the rest of my layout. It's operationally enjoyable and is inspiring me to get more work done on the sections I have built, so I'd call that success.

Running VIA Rail Canadian

Taking a break from building to enjoy running trains today. VIA Rail Canadian passing the CNR Covipan Intermodal Yard on my layout, the Trenton Subdivision in N Scale. Power consists of three of the four Kato F40's that I customized, pulling 11 Rapido Trains coaches.
